Kidpower: Protecting and Empowering Our Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children
Monday, November 15th, 2021 from 5pm to 6:30pm PST via Zoom.
This workshop is open to parents, educators, and others teaching and caring for children who are Deaf/hard of hearing. In this adults-only workshop, learn ways to help kids build stronger relationships – and be safer from harm!
We’ll practice ways to:
- Teach safety skills using fun, not fear
- Strengthen kids’ peer/friendship skills
- Protect kids from abuse and bullying
- Adapt safety skills for kids’ abilities
This workshop has been organized by the American Society for Deaf Children.
Workshop Fee: $20
Because practicing together greatly increases the ability to use the skills taught in real life, we strongly recommend that you keep your video and microphone on and practice along with the instructor.
