Thanks to our partnership with Hands and Voices, Kidpower was introduced to Thrive, a South African nonprofit dedicated to providing unbiased parent-led support to families of deaf or hard of hearing children. Thrive Co-Founder Debra Clelland came to our Kidpower Core Program Training and has begun providing services in South Africa in 2017! We have two Kidpower Representatives in South Africa, Debra Cleland and Levina Munsamy.

I have had the privilege to work in multi-national corporations across the world, but I have never before seen such an exceptional display of leadership as what I witnessed during my week of Kidpower training. The trust, integrity and ownership that was displayed by each member of the Kidpower team is the most inspirational leadership that I have ever seen. What wonderful learning that I will take back to the organization that I work for, I am deeply touched and inspired. I can’t wait to bring Kidpower back to my family and to schools in South Africa, especially the boarding schools for children who are deaf and would otherwise be sitting alone in a room with no place to go.
