Notebook with questions about self-defense programs next to a cup of coffeeEveryone deserves to know ways to use their bodies to escape an attack – as well as ways to avoid an attack in the first place!

The right kind of self-defense training can increase the safety and confidence of kids and adults alike – and, choosing an effective and supportive program is essential.

Done well, self-defense workshops can be exciting, empowering, and life-changing. Done poorly, they can be boring, discouraging, or destructive. The quality of the program and approach of the instructor will make a huge difference in the results of any kind of training. Self-defense is no exception.

Our article How To Choose A Good Self-Defense Program gives you 7 questions to consider when evaluating a self-defense program to increase the chance that the program you or your loved ones take will be a positive, empowering, confidence-building, and skill-building experience.

Kidpower, Teenpower, and Fullpower Adult self-defense programs have been designed to meet the criteria described in the article, and the development of our online programs has made it possible for people in communities all over the world to learn directly from live Kidpower instruction for the first time.
