We will be sharing messages and insights from Kidpower experts who have been serving people in their own regions – and, we are confident their approaches and insights will resonate with many others as well!
Part 1
Part 2
Parents, educators, and community leaders have expressed great appreciation for these two 7-minute videos from Kidpower of Colorado discussing experiences of Parenting In The Pandemic. Center Director, Co-Founder, and Trainer Jan Isaacs Henry, a former psychotherapist who specialized in the treatment of trauma and abuse, and Senior Instructor Meredith Henry, LCSW, discuss what they are hearing as common concerns among parents in their community that reflect what parents in many communities are facing.
In these videos, Jan and Meredith bring a calm, grounded, thoughtful approach to these challenging topics.
- Parental guilt
- Kids’ behavior changes
- Dealing with grief and loss
- Emotional triggers – and emotional regulation
- Ways to talk with kids about their feelings in this time
The videos reflect Jan’s and Meredith’s confident leadership and their ability to engage in a caring, warm, and compassionate way about potentially upsetting topics with people of all ages. Many people have also told us that they have found Jan’s excellent article, Kidpower Emotional Safety Tips for Families During the Pandemic, to be of great help.
Over the next few weeks, we will be greatly expanding the offerings from many instructors on our online learning page and featuring many of these free resources in this newsletter.
If there is any way in which we might be of help to you, please let us know!
