Our New Zealand Centre has developed an entertaining and interactive Healthy Relationships program based on the Kidpower Teenpower Fullpower curriculum to provide more resources for teens and young adults with intellectual disabilities.  After excellent feedback from teachers and students, they are now trialing Healthy Relationships ONLINE and offering free access until November 30, 2011 because they want as many people as possible to try it and provide feedback.

You are invited to have a browse and give it a try – just register on www.kidpower.org.nz/hr right away and see how the Fullpower Friends determine if an interaction is safe and how to set a boundary and/or get help. Please note that you can register as supporter, which will enable you to monitor how your
students are doing.

Healthy Relationships is a program for teens and adults with intellectual disabilities that is based on the Kidpower curriculum. It provides practical tools to build resiliency and to prevent bullying and abuse. The program is adaptable for younger ages and effective for a wide range of disabilities. Versions can be created in other languages, if there is interest.

Kidpower New Zealand is also offering 6 months free registration (value $15) to the first 50 people who fill in a short online questionnaire by the 30th of November. Please register at www.kidpower.org.nz/hr, have a look at the resources and fill in the quick and easy online survey at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/5VMJ25C. The survey only takes 3 minutes to complete.

Please note that some movies might not load fully the first time. Just wait for a few seconds, then click on the title again.

This is a wonderful resource and we really encourage you to try it out!
