We know that sexual abuse causes suffering and lasting trauma in far too many lives. And human trafficking is an extreme form of sexual and other abuse, causing even more misery.
To help protect children and teens, many states in the USA require educators in schools to have training in how to prevent and stop sexual abuse and human trafficking.
Award-winning producer and Kidpower International Senior Program Leader, Dr. Amy Tiemann, is my co-author for our Amazon best-seller: Doing Right by Our Kids: Protecting Child Safety at All Levels.
Amy and I are excited to invite you to join us for Full Circle Safety® LIVE for K-12 educators, other school staff, and parents. The goal of Full Circle Safety is to prepare ALL adults in ALL schools with the knowledge and skills they need to protect the safety and well-being of their students as well as to fulfill legal requirements for this kind of training. This two-hour event will be delivered through the Kidpower Online Learning Center, and will cover both modules of Full Circle Safety: Sexual Abuse Prevention and Reporting, and What K-12 Educators need to know about Human Trafficking.
The live training will take place online, Thursday September 29 from 7-9 pm ET. To learn more and register, visit: https://learn.kidpower.org/course/full-circle-safety-live-2022
The cost is $20 for individual registration. Each person who takes the training will receive a Certificate of Completion.
Full Circle Safety is a professional training that teaches K-12 educators what they need to know to recognize and report signs of suspected sexual abuse, human trafficking, and other forms of exploitation. In this training, we also present Kidpower/Teenpower skills designed to protect emotional safety and teach youth about their own emotional well-being, and developing healthy relationships. Teachers have found these skills to be very helpful in order to facilitate problem-solving, and create a supportive classroom and school culture.
This training is relevant for all adult professionals who work in a school. We emphasize this inclusive approach because a classroom teacher, coach, bus driver, guidance counselor, or parent volunteer each sees very different aspects of a community’s life. Each educator plays a vital role in recognizing and reporting potential abuse, so that students will get the help they need.
This two-hour training is designed to fulfill many USA state requirements for educator professional development, including North Carolina’s SB199 law, and other states’ training requirements inspired by Erin’s Law.
For those who cannot make the live program with Amy and me, Full Circle Safety is also available as an on-demand recorded online course in two one-hour modules in our Online Learning Center.
Imagine the impact if all schools, everywhere, were prepared to recognize, prevent, and intervene to stop sexual abuse and human trafficking!
Please let us know if you have any questions. And please share this special opportunity to join us LIVE with the opportunity to learn, ask questions, and practice skills together.
