As the Director of Community Education, I have had the privilege of seeing the impact of our training for all kinds of people facing difficult life challenges. In honor of International Pride Month, we invite you to join us in bringing hope and skills to people all over the world who are feeling threatened, isolated, and unsafe because of their sexual orientation, gender expression, or gender identity.

Your Pridepower training for our volunteers gave us the skills to practice and confidence to work with all our community members and partner agencies to have a safe and joyful Pride event. The expertise you provided was invaluable for our safety planning.

– Jennifer Walter, CoastPride Center Board President

Please donate today to help us continue our commitment to ensuring that everyone, everywhere can have access to these life-saving skills.

Kidpower has championed the safety of the LGBTQIA+ community since we began in 1989. The skills we teach prepare people to take charge of their safety with their families, in their schools and workplaces, and during Pride events. We teach parents and allies ways to empower LGBTQIA+ youth – and to protect them as they are still growing and developing skills to protect themselves.

Your gift in any amount will go towards:

  • Scholarships for individuals and groups so that no one is turned away for lack of money
  • The production of a special online course about Safety at Pride Events
  • Helping people find our services through greater outreach and marketing

You can also help people be safer by using and sharing our resources. Thanks to the support of our generous donors, we now have a Pridepower Safety Skills Course for teens and adults – with video lessons and skills practice sheets – that is available free of charge in the Kidpower Online Learning Center. This course was created by and for people from the LGBTQIA+ community.
