Fullpower for Young Adults: Full Force Self-Defense Workshop for Young Women 16 to 24 years old

Saturday, December 20 in Los Angeles
10am-2pm or 3pm-7pm

These exciting workshops will focus on the needs of young women who are out in the world independently for high school, college, work, and travel to prepare them to take charge of their safety and well-being with people through awareness, knowledge, and skills. These skills can prevent and stop most bullying, harassment, sexual assault, and other violence – and help avoid and solve problems with people in ways that will strengthen relationships and enrich lives.

Using situations relevant for our students, we will practice skills to:

  • Assess situations and respond quickly
  • Project awareness and confidence, especially when on your own
  • Stop unwanted attention
  • Use voice as a safety tool
  • Set clear boundaries with friends, partners, co-workers, classmates and others
  • Take charge of emotional triggers
  • Get help – and persist until you get it!
  • Deal effectively with verbal aggression
  • Stop most attacks before they start with a few simple habits
  • Take action as upstanders safely in intervening to protect others
  • Practice powerful physical self-defense skills full-force on a head-to-toe padded instructor

Location:  Atwater Village – 3462 San Fernando Road, LA 90065. Pre-registration required.

Fee: $140 per student. Partial scholarship support is possible if needed. Space is limited to 10 students to allow for extensive practice.
